No more Wednesdays till September

Wednesday training sessions have been suspended over the summer and will restart in September.

This is due to reduced numbers attending over the summer holidays – particularly student players leaving Edinburgh for summer.

Date of return to normal three nights a week will be announced soon.

Edinburgh Tournament April 2012

Saturday 14th April 10:00 -16:00

Please meet 09:30 at the Portobello pool for a 10 start – see below for why

Cost will be £15 and will include food at Tim and Libby’s afterwards

Tournament Organiser is Matt Butcher and he says:

So far the Edinburgh people I have down to be playing are myself, Hayley, ‘Gary’, Ruth, Amy, Brian, Tracey, Liam, Tim, Libby, Ric (plus Jackie), Oscar, Mike , Alice and Rachael which if I can count makes 15.

We’ve got 5 other teams coming (Dundee, Aberdeen, Oban, Glasgow and Hippos) with numbers ranging from 6 to 10 on each team. I’ve done a draft of potential teams but the plan is to check at the captain’s meeting on Saturday how many players each team has actually turned up with and then balance the teams out a bit using the extra Edinburgh players.

If anyone particularly doesn’t (or does) want to be on one of the other teams give me a shout and I’ll accommodate it.
Any questions drop me a line, if not see you tomorrow or Saturday.

Cheers
Matt

Commie Pool in action

After teething problems resulting in the EUHC first night booking of the Dive Pool at the Commie being cancelled – the pool is now fixed and working perfectly.

First session was a little late due to the previous club leaving the pool too late  – raising the pool floor from five to two metres took the delay in starting up to ten minutes. However, we still had our complete hour of playing and the pool staff will investigate how to improve things for next week.

Pool session was a great success – clear water, plenty space, nineteen players, lots of fun.
